How do I request access to an item that the Library doesn't hold or have access to?

Answer

While the physical and digital collections are vast, there maybe times where we dont hold the items or resources that you need or want access to. In these circumstances there are 3 potential avenues to go down:

Make an Interloan request

If you have searched and cannot find the title you are looking for then you can request an Interloan from another Library that does hold it. To do this you first need to search beyond the collection, this can be done by switching on Expand your results to beyond the library located on the left under Tweak your results.

This can also be achieved when you scroll to the bottom of the search results, clicking on the button Expand Search will switch this on.

Locate the title you are looking for and click on No full-text.

Then Click on Interloan this item.

This will open the Interloan service and prepopulate the request with the details of the item.
